Subject: RE: Belief VS faith
Mark 5:21-43 - A Dead Girl and a Sick Woman

In reading this scripture a couple of things could be said about why people don't grasp what they are believing for.  Believe is mental acceptance that something said or stated is true, whether or not you have seen the stated item

Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we don't see or as the bible says in the amplified verson of Hebrews 11  NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

One is done with the mind (believing) the other is done with the heart (faith), God doesn't move on belief, he moves on faith, and they are not synonomous, they don't do the same things.  Belief brings on faith but faith produces movement.

Let's look at Mark 5.   Jairus came to Jesus first, he told him his daughter was dying, he had his ear first, but he was just talking to Jesus.  Woman comes up second and never talks (because she had been doing this in her belief system before even getting there, in fact, the believing she was going to be healed caused her to even move towards Jesus and touch him), instantly, she touches the mantle of Jesus and HE feels faith (you can feel faith), He turns from declaration and faces Faith, w/o faith it is impossible to please God....He is pleased with this woman he's never met before, with Faith all things are possible, He needs to know who this is that caused virtue to depart from Him (have you caused virtue to depart from Him)....He talks to this woman for some time (as we know women can't tell a story in just two minutes and she had time to explain how much money she'd spent and just how long she'd been suffering with this issue (in fact, Jairus had time to grab Jesus -- and maybe that is what Jesus was waiting for, and Jairus never did.)

The only thing that broke Jesus from talking with the woman with the issue of blood is when the other men come to tell Jairus his daughter is dead, because instinctively, Jairus would have said something to completely cancel his belief, he would have criticized, if only Jesus would have moved more quickly, or if only this woman would have finished her story or just shut up, shoulda, woulda, and coulda will never add up to a gotta...(finished thing).  It will only give you a fear (bad confession) which is the opposite of faith, which moves the hand of the enemy not the hand of God in your situation, which will now destroy the belief, which would have led to faith which would have produced movement towards getting what you want....Jesus tells Jairus....don't fear...only believe.

My point is this, we can declare and believe what we want (the devil believes) but until we grab hold of the word (Jesus) the way she did, we will not be in faith, we are still in belief....the just shall live by faith, not belief.  Our believing needs to cause us to do something.  Eliza, my friend, believed so much that God was going to save her house (so much) that she did something, she called everyone at her bank until she found her miracle but she DID something and faith was met out of her belief encounter.  Lastly, Jesus had 12 men with him and only took 3...whole other teaching on good ground and 1/4 having the right heart to see the miracle...but he only took those that he felt were doing something in the kingdom.  The brothers, James and John (known as sons of thunder because they never shut up about Jesus) and he took Peter (the one with an attitude to protect the word).

Faith will need to be spoken and defended at times to make it stand.  What are you defending or in faith for, what have you done to accomplish it?
